Udaan
This is a best film of the year. Beautiful, poignant and touching. It requires sheer guts to produce such kind of film without getting bogged down by commercial trappings. Screenplay is to the point and director Vikramaditya Motwane succeeds as a fine storyteller. Read the rest of this entry »
The Hurt Locker
Mar 12th, 2010 by chinmayogale
Is “The Hurt Locker” an action war film? For me the answer is “NO”. It is surely not an out an out adrenaline action film. In simple words, “The Hurt Locker” is a story of a soldier working for US Army in Iraq and doing his job. Of course, Hurt Locker shows life of soldiers posted in Iraq. However, film is not about just war and it is about treating soldier’s work as a routine job. The Hurt Locker follows protagonist “William James”. William James is a member of “United States Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)”. He is a veteran when it comes to disposing the bombs and it has been shown that he has disarmed 873 bombs. The Slumdog Millionaire
Jan 23rd, 2009 by chinmayogale
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Slumdog Millionaire is a finest film made in recent times. Whatever accolades and nominations it is receiving are absolutely worth it. Danny Boyle portrays the tale of love, hope with a backdrop of slums from Maximum City “Mumbai” beautifully. In simple words this is a tale about love and hope. A. R. Rahman’s original musical score is pulsating for which, he has received 3 OSCAR nominations. He is truly a genius when it comes to blending indian and western classical and composing brilliant musical scores. (check out
my old post on ARR ) Screenplay by Simon Beaufoy is amazing. The way Simon Beaufoy has constructed the story is truly a master’s work.
